In most recent news, the Bootstrap 3.3.0 version was announced and released, but what else was announced was the Bootstrap 4.0.0 version – an alpha release should be ready within a couple of weeks, that’s what the official blog post says. Expect better forms, fonts, and lack of IE8 support!

I was contacted by Xiaoying Riley a couple of days ago, she mentioned that she has released a new (free) Bootstrap template for developers. I had to take a quick look, and I wasn’t disappointed. The DEVAID theme is a great example of how versatile Bootstrap and jQuery can be. You can preview the theme by following this link.

devAid is a free Bootstrap theme designed to help developers promote their personal projects. It comes with 4 colour schemes. The source LESS files are included so you can easily make styling customizations.

This template is fully responsive (having been built using HTML5, and CSS3), it’s built with Bootstrap and features four different color schemes; it’s integrated with FontAwesome icons (click here for more Bootstrap icons), there are LESS files included (easy customization), and it’s compatible with all major browsers. What more do you need from a free template?

Developing Your Own Responsive Bootstrap Theme

I’m going to take this opportunity to promote one of the guest columns here on CodeCondo; take a look at this post if you’re keen on learning more about Bootstrap, especially if you’re looking to learn how to build responsive sites using Bootstrap. You can also throw in some Bootstrap prototyping tools in the mix, to give you more design freedom.

Let me know what you think of this template, and also make sure to check out other templates by Xiaoying – she’s a very talented UX/UI designer.
