Just to clear things up right away, this project is still in a closed BETA, but it’s approaching it’s launch deadline quickly, and we can expect to signup in the very near future. In the mean time, check out their homepage to signup to the waiting list. I’m not entirely sure it’s first come, first serve. You can request a demo, I think that works.
The product is free, and there are no real restrictions from what I could see. You can also check out their Chrome extension, which integrates the platform with your browser. Pretty cool, and I can see how much time could be saved by learning how to use this app.
Synata wants to make your work life easier, by integrating many of web applications that companies use for work in one place, and then allow you to perform search queries for those very applications. Security, yes, it’s a very big question mark on that term, and I’m wondering what can we expect in order to protect customers data and most importantly – their privacy.
I’ve not been able to gather the full list of applications that Synata supports, but from publicly available archives, these are the apps that they do support:
- Salesforce
- Google Apps
- Box
- Dropbox
- Zendesk
- JIRA
- Workday
- Sharepoint
- Exchange
It appears that MakeUseOf has got a post about Synata prepared as well, and contain quite a bit of images for those who’re curious. Check it out here.
I think by now everyone understands how quickly cloud is growing, and cloud combined with search is really something to keep an eye on.
The more services are joining cloud, the easier it becomes to find data through them, the easier it becomes to manage your work and even everyday life. This tool is putting the emphasis on teams, and work-spaces, but I think that many developers and even ‘normal’ users will find good use to this app.
