Hiring a full-time  designer  for your  web  projects might prove to be quite the luxury, something that many small businesses and companies are simply unable to afford. Thankfully, there are plenty of websites and platforms out there – providing you with professional and  experienced   web   designers  for a reasonable price.

The price, area of expertise,  experience  and quality of service are all quite important factors when it comes to finding a freelance (in other words, standalone)  web   designer  for your next project. I’ve put together a couple of sites, which I believe are perfect for solving your problem of finding a  web   designer .

Creatives are all around us, each of them posses a different set of skills, and so it is quite mandatory  to   look  for them on sites and service platforms that provide deep searching and listing capabilities. I’ve tried to put together the post with that criteria in mind, and hopefully – you’ll join me in the comment section to recommend more choices.

Krop

Krop
It has been quite the journey for Krop, little bit over a decade since they’ve been functioning, and it all began by building a small mailing list for a select few  designers . Later on, that very list turned into a job board, and as the site continued to grow – it expanded to more industries, like conferences.

You should expect to find great talent on Krop, I do believe that the homepage itself of this platform is a statement of types of creatives that operate within their database. You can publish an open submission for a possible job spot for a specific  designer , and quickly enough you’ll find someone who’s qualified for the job!

Carbonmade

Carbonmade
It’s not a freelance site, rather – it is an online portfolio directory of both  designers , and creatives. It started out as a small time project, which later turned out to attract hundreds of thousands of users, and is now one of the largest communities in the niche. How can it help?

The idea is that you’re able  to   look  for specific types of portfolios, based on your requirements, and if you decide that you like someones work that much – you can reach out to him, and perhaps settle a deal. But, always settle a meeting first. It would be silly to trust someone only by their work examples, get to know them personally.

Behance

Behance
It is currently one of the most attractive and visited design boards in the world. I’ve seen some incredible talent on this platform, and I know you’ll find exactly what you’re  looking  for. In their own words, here is what Behance has to say about itself.

The leading online platform to showcase & discover creative work. The creative world updates their work in one  place  to broadcast it widely and efficiently. Companies explore the work and access talent on a global scale.

You’ll find personalities, characters and creative ideas beyond your wildest dreams, and that is something I can say only by having been a member for less than a year. Give them a try, and keep  looking  if you can’t find what you’re after – it’s there somewhere.

Guru

Guru
Guru operates with the business owner in mind, to this day – they’ve served several million customers, and have plenty of  experience  when it comes to giving people what they want. It’s a freelance website focused on quality, customer service and, of course, the end product for any type of service you purchase.

You’ll be pleasantly surprised by the available talent on this platform, and the prices are quite appealing too. In any case, a deal can always be negotiated. You just have to have the courage to ask.

Elance

Elance
In recent news, the freelance service oDesk actually merged together with Elance, making it one of the biggest freelance websites in the world. Their database is filled with millions of people to do any kind of jobs you require of them. I bet you can find someone who will do literally the most crazy thing, just to make some money.

But, we’re  looking  for  places  to find  web   designers , and  experienced  ones at that, and I can vouch for Elance being a reasonable resource when it comes to finding the right person to design your next project. Prices are reasonable, the system itself is fair and you’re guaranteed a high-quality end product.

Sortfolio

Sortfolio
If you’re like most  web   designers , you have a great site but you’re having a hard time getting qualified leads to visit your site. Sortfolio is here to help drive potential clients to your site. We promote Sortfolio to thousands of businesses, they find your work on Sortfolio, and then we direct them to your site so you can finish wowing them. Sortfolio helps them find you so you can do your magic.

The prices you see on the advertised pages might seem a little steep, but keep in mind that you’ll be working with some really talented people, and the official deadline of your project is probably going to be boosted quite a bit, due to your initial investment. I recommend this service for those who’re serious about taking their small business to the next level.

Dribbble

Dribbble
Just like Behance, Dribbble is also a very hot community right now, and you can expect to see tens of thousands of interactions every day, which includes thousands of new design projects being uploaded by the community members. Originally, it is a community where people can express the designs and projects they’re working on.

Taking that into account, you’re given the ability to see what kind of personalities and  web   designers  hang out on Dribbble, and from there on – you can try and find potential worker to do the designing job that you require. You will find a lot of great people there, and truth to be told – probably some friends too!

Folyo

Folyo
Yes, the last website on our list is going to be Folyo. I really like what these guys are doing, and their initial vision and mission is exactly what this post was made for. Folyo wants to help you to find the right  designer  for your next  web  design project, and do it in a manner where both parties are satisfied.

You’re given access to a dashboard, from within which you can manage all of your projects, interact directly with the desginers, and even the team behind Folyo if necessary. The pricing is reasonable, 99$ one-time fee, and a guarantee of return if Folyo fails to satisfy your needs.

Where to Find  Web   Designers ?

I do sincerely hope that I was able to answer that question for you, take into account the fact that this list is very up-to-date, and if there were better options to put into this list – I would probably have done so already, but not to clash with opinion of others; I recommend that you suggest your own, as said in the first few paragraphs.

Think about it this way, there are – combined all together – millions of people on these sites, so I doubt that you won’t be able to find at least five people who’re seriously capturing your attention and creative drive. If your  web  design project ends up a success, please remember to tell me about it. I love to hear success stories. (:
