Laravel 5

Laravel is the highly recommended PHP based web development framework that shines new light on the way PHP works, and what can be done with it. These days, many of the new frameworks that come out are quite similar in their way of using templating systems, routing integrations, and generally a simple to follow syntax.

We’ve covered Laravel a little bit here on CodeCondo, the post that discussed some of the nicest sites online using Laravel was received well by both inexperienced Laravel users, and those who’re already artisans. We also covered what are some of the entry level books for Laravel (keep an eye out for updates), which was also very well received.

Today, a new version of Laravel was released. Laravel 5 has finally made its appearance! You can read up on the new release on the Laravel News website.

It’s an exciting week for Laravel. The Laracon 2015 sites launched yesterday and today Laravel 5 has been tagged and is now officially released. Along with this release the home page features a brand new design. This version has more than 22 new features.

If you would like to learn more about the new features, you can do so by reading this post. It clearly is a big celebration for everyone at Laravel, including the developers themselves.

But, if you’re new to Laravel and have no experience at all, here are some good reasons to consider for joining the community:

  • Great and well-documented code, allowing for easy learning process.
  • A very vibrant and active developer community, has got channels on all the major social sites.
  • It can feel as if you’re coding through a user interface application when using Laravel, it simply flows; and has been built with simplicity in mind.
  • And based on that knowledge, it can be relatively easy to build and get stuff done.

Let us know how you’re getting on with the new version, and what kind of content you would like to see in relation to it.
